Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, South Korea, has exported 90 tons (around 2 billion won) of Geumsil strawberries to Southeast Asia, including Thailand. Developed by crossbreeding Seolhyang and Maehyang varieties, Geumsil strawberries are known for their high sugar content, firmness, and unique peach flavor. The city expects to continue exporting high-quality agricultural products in the future by replacing existing air exports with ships, which is expected to reduce logistics costs and maintain freshness.
