The farm "Svitanok Stari Maiaki" has created a mixed walnut and hazelnut orchard, studying experience from Moldova to the USA. This is reported by Kurkul.com with reference to the magazine "Horticulture and Vegetable Growing." According to the representative of the enterprise, Oleg Gladkyi, they decided to postpone this issue and return to it in three years, when the first nut orchards planted in Ukraine will start to yield the first harvest. In 2012-2013, there were no industrial walnut or hazelnut orchards in Ukraine. The farm waited until 2015, but the French saplings froze out, the Moldovan ones did not bear fruit. Only the Chandler variety worked—it was chosen for the walnut. For hazelnuts, they chose Tonda di Giffoni—a world leader for confectioners. This variety is used in "Rafaello."
