The European Union's carrot production continued to strengthen in 2024, both in total quantity and per capita. The ranking is clearly led by the Netherlands, where production amounts to 30 kilograms per capita, while the union's output has also increased. The concentration of production remains significant, with a few key countries dominating the market, while the role of the Central and Eastern European region is also considerable. Although production in Hungary is stable, serious obstacles lie ahead of any expansion: high investment needs and a lack of specialized technological background will hold back the emergence of new producers.
