This year has not been without livestock diseases in Hungary. According to the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) regulations, domestic livestock were declared free from bird flu in mid-July, we got rid of foot-and-mouth disease in September, while we recently obtained freedom from pestis minor in small ruminants. However, at the beginning of October, another bluetongue disease case was confirmed, this time in Zala County, so we cannot be completely satisfied. The Veol.hu news portal reported that a severe bee disease broke out in Veszprém County.
