The Colombian Potato Producers Federation (Fedepapa) announced a increase of mil pesos per kilo of the papa pastusa due to the closure of the Panamericana road. The road closure has caused a blockade in the transportation of the potato, leading to a decrease in quality and an accumulation of harvest, resulting in higher prices. The federation is urging the national government to develop a strategy to allow the entry and exit of food in the region and is considering the use of military transport and the completion of the San Francisco – Mocoa variant road project.
