(Haman = Yonhap News) Reporter Jeong Jong-ho = Haman County, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 4th that the "15th Haman Gosgam Festival" will be held from the 23rd to the 25th at the county indoor gymnasium. Organized by the Haman Gosgam Festival Committee, this festival will see the participation of 21 local farms to showcase the excellence of Haman Gosgam. During the festival, various events will be held, including the sharing of Gosgam Malitteok (rice cake wrapped in persimmon leaves with nuts inside), Gosgam auctions, celebratory performances, woodworking experiences, and bracelet making. Haman Gosgam, which is dried by the winds blowing from Yeohangsan, which stands at 770 meters above sea level, is made from the unique variety Susi (Sui) and boasts low seed content, high sugar content, and a soft, juicy texture. Additionally, its beautiful shape and vibrant color have earned it the reputation of a premium snack, having been offered as a tribute to the royal court since the reign of King Sukjong of the Joseon Dynasty. An official from the county said, "We will do our best to prepare for the festival so that visitors can fully enjoy the premium Haman Gosgam."
