Morocco is set to begin its blueberry production season, with the first harvest expected in December and the peak from January to June. The country aims to produce around 80,000 tonnes of blueberries, making it a significant player in the global market. Its blueberries are known for their quality, attracting importers from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. However, Morocco faces increasing competition and is responding by developing innovative varieties. The Frutta Group, which works with Moroccan producers, is focusing on the North American market this year. The quality and volumes of Moroccan blueberries are expected to grow in the 2024 season.
