In a significant development for South Korea's Gochang Korean beef brand, a bull from a private farm in Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, has been chosen as a candidate sired cow for the first time, underlining the farm's dedication to producing low-carbon Korean beef. Led by CEO Kim Moon-seok of the 'Youth Korean Beef Business Group,' the farm has earned the distinction of being the first low-carbon livestock farm for Korean beef, as recognized by the Livestock Product Quality Evaluation Institute. Following the easing of semen processing regulations, Gochang-gun is set to enhance local cattle breeding by supplying high-quality Korean beef semen, supported by genome analysis, to local farmers, aiming at breed improvement.
