‘A splendid achievement’ in selecting Korean beef cattle from a private farm in Gochang-gun

One candidate Korean beef bull was selected from a private farm in Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, raising expectations for the quality improvement of the Gochang Korean beef brand. This is the first time in the country that Korean beef from a private farm has been selected as a candidate sired cow. In Sillim-myeon, where this Korean beef cattle were raised, CEO Kim Moon-seok is working as a key member of the ‘Youth Korean Beef Business Group’ and has been taking the lead in producing low-carbon Korean beef. Last year, it was certified as the first low-carbon livestock (Korean beef) farm by the Livestock Product Quality Evaluation Institute. So far, candidate sires have been produced and managed by national organizations such as Nonghyup Economic Holdings’ Korean Beef Improvement Office and the National Institute of Animal Science’s Korean Beef Research Institute.
