The Argentine Association of Direct Sowing Producers (AAPRESID) is collaborating with the National Government to address the issue of corn stunting or spiroplasma, a condition that poses a threat to the agricultural sector, including pork and poultry industries. This problem affects the profitability and sustainability of corn production, a key crop for export value and volume. AAPRESID is advocating for genetic materials that can tolerate the disease and promoting a collaborative approach to control the pest. The AAPRESID Pest Management Network is monitoring the disease in hybrids and developing a project to track pest population dynamics. Additionally, AAPRESID is conducting dissemination actions to raise awareness about the disease.
