Bulgaria is a major exporter of herbs in Europe and globally, according to its Minister of Agriculture and Food, Georgi Tahov. The country has collected and processed approximately 15,000 tons of herbs in recent years, with nearly 90% being exported. Bulgaria is known for its herbs and medicinal plants, including Mursal tea, linden, rosehip, chamomile, lemon balm, and lavender, which are used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. Tahov emphasized the potential for further growth in herbal tea production and the importance of cultural exchange and economic partnership between Bulgaria and China in the tea industry.
