The Ministry of Industry in Indonesia is focusing on the potential for growth in the sago and artisan chocolate industries, following interest from potential international partners at the Hannover Messe 2023 exhibition. PT Bangka Asindo Agro recorded potential transactions worth IDR 6 billion during the event. The ministry highlights the health benefits and potential for food security of sago starch, and plans to develop the industry through infrastructure development, promotional activities, and attracting new investors. There are currently 31 artisanal chocolate brands in Indonesia, with an annual installed capacity of 1,242 tons and a market share of 1.3% of the potential 10% of the Indonesian chocolate market, leaving room for growth in a market that is increasingly prioritizing quality.
