The Hungarian feed industry primarily caters to the country's own demand, with only 5% of production being exported, mainly to Romania. The industry's production in 2021 was dominated by poultry feed, followed by pig and cattle feed. According to Peter Zoltan from the UBM Group, the prices of raw materials for animal feed stabilized in 2021 and are expected to remain stable until 2024. The UBM Group, Hungary's largest agricultural company, operates six feed factories in Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania, producing a total of 600,000 tons of feed in 2023. In the first half of the 2023/24 business year, the UBM Group generated 54.3% of its total sales revenue from exports.
