A student from Tokyo University of Agriculture, Prima Ghandi, met with the Acting Governor of Riau, Rahman Hadi, to discuss research plans and potential investment in the palm oil downstreaming industry. The research aims to use palm fruit certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), and there is potential for cooperation with Japan if sustainable palm oil raw materials are available. The meeting also covered scholarship opportunities for Riau students in Japan. The Acting Governor expressed support for the research, which is expected to be the basis for attracting investment from Japan to the palm oil downstream sector in Riau.
