During a recent crackdown by the Rural Development Administration from March 11th to 22nd, a significant number of country of origin labeling violations were discovered across 5,332 locations, with 1,181 found to have inadequate labeling on items such as cabbage kimchi, chicken, tofu, and pork. Delivery apps were responsible for 85.9% of these violations, leading to 46 criminal charges and fines totaling 11.8 million won for 32 locations. In response, the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service has announced plans for further special crackdowns, especially in the metropolitan area, to address these issues and improve the labeling system for mail-order intermediaries.
