In 2023, Peru emerged as the leading global exporter of quinoa, generating US$98,122,000 and capturing 43% of the market, followed by Bolivia and the United States. Claudia Solano Oré from ADEX highlighted Peru's optimal conditions for high-quality quinoa production and the need to avoid overproduction to sustain profitability. The United States was the largest importer of Peruvian quinoa, with Ayacucho being the top producing region. ADEX's Rafael del Campo emphasized the significance of new technologies and scientific research in advancing Andean grains. Notably, between January and May 2024, Peru's quinoa exports surged by 42.1% compared to the same period in 2023, with the United States remaining the primary market.
