In 2021, Russia increased its wheat flour exports to Afghanistan, reaching 27.5 thousand tons for $10.6 million, a significant increase from 2020. The main suppliers of flour to Afghanistan were Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The Russian Federation also saw a sharp increase in flour exports in the 2021/22 agricultural year, reaching 488 thousand tons from 154.6 thousand tons a year earlier. The record wheat harvest in Russia has stimulated the production and sales of flour, with the main sales markets being Central Asian countries. The trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia and Afghanistan in 2022 was $136.2 million against $59.8 million in 2021.
