The Rural Development Administration is promoting the 'African Rice Seed Production Project (Ricepia)' in 7 African countries in 2024, and plans to expand to 10 countries by 2025, in an effort to improve rice self-sufficiency and address the food crisis in Africa. The project aims to produce high-yield rice seeds to support food production for millions of people annually and enhance agricultural technology in developing countries. The initiative has garnered international interest and is expected to raise the status of Korean agricultural technology.
