Despite facing a decrease in seafood exports to the US in 2023 due to market difficulties and inventory problems, Vietnam's seafood exports to the US reached a record of 2.15 billion USD in 2022, an 80% increase compared to 2012. The main seafood exports to the US include shrimp, which saw a 77% increase from 2012 to 2022, pangasius, which increased by 50%, and tuna, which doubled in exports. The US is not only Vietnam's top seafood import partner but also provides important seafood products to the Vietnamese market.
