Spain and China have successfully negotiated agreements for the export of Spanish almonds and kaki to China, following phytosanitary protocols. By 2025, Spain plans to export 50,000 tons of almonds to China, with an additional 90,000 tons by 2032. The almond-producing regions of Spain, including Andalusia, Aragón, and Castilla-La Mancha, are expected to benefit from this agreement. The process involves operators, regional, and central administration, with a focus on traceability and compliance through the CEXVEG application. These protocols build on existing agreements for the export of fresh fruits and plant products to China, showcasing the ministry's efforts in promoting the internationalization of the Spanish agri-food sector.
