Minas Gerais has seen a significant boost in its agribusiness exports, reaching a record high of US $ 3.01 billion in the first four months of the year, a 19.4% increase from the same period in 2020. The state also saw a 2.2% increase in volume, with coffee, soy complex, meat, sugar and alcohol complex, and forest products being the primary exports. Coffee exports experienced a 22% revenue and 24% volume increase, while meat exports rose by 12% in revenue and 28% in volume. The sugar and alcohol complex also saw an increase, driven by the fall in Thailand's harvest. Minas Gerais exported to 155 different destinations, with China, the United States, Germany, Belgium, and Japan being the top five.
