Brazil: Agribusinesses in São Paulo with municipal inspection advance in Selo Arte concessions

The first Selo Arte concessions for agribusinesses in São Paulo inspected by Municipal Inspection Services (SIMs) began to be released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and gained strong momentum in recent months. With the Art Seal, handcrafted products with municipal or state inspection can be sold throughout the national territory. In the State of São Paulo, there are already more than 200 products authorized to use the Arte Seal, of which 46 are products with SIM. The federal legislation that implemented the seal is recent, from 2018, and until mid-2023 the concessions requested in the State were only for products with state inspection - SISP Artesanal. In October last year, Mapa began receiving demands from SIMs directly at state superintendencies. Concessions for the use of the Art Seal are made by the inspection services, which send the processes for Mapa approval.
