Iran has experienced a 9% increase in agricultural exports in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year, despite economic sanctions, the pandemic, and drought, according to the deputy head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehrdad Jamal Orounaqi. The country exported over 2.5 million tons of agricultural products worth more than $1.7 billion, with the main exports being tomatoes, pistachios, and watermelons. The primary recipients of these exports were Iraq, China, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, Iran's non-oil exports, excluding oil and gas, increased by 65% in value and 27% in weight, reaching 38.3 million tons valued at $14.3 billion, with China being the largest importer of these goods.
