Torrential rainfall in Taiwan has caused agricultural losses amounting to NT$334 million (US$12 million) as of Monday evening, with Kaohsiung city experiencing the worst damages. The Council of Agriculture reported that farmers in central and southern Taiwan have seen significant crop and livestock losses, as well as equipment damage. The most affected crops were papaya, peanuts, and longan, with losses estimated at NT$85.39 million, NT$25.51 million, and NT$17.49 million, respectively. The livestock and poultry sector also suffered losses, primarily from chicken, duck, and pig rearing.
