Coffee and pepper prices are on the rise both locally and globally due to a temporary supply shortage and increased demand expectations. Vietnamese coffee prices range from 41,100 to 41,800 VND/kg, influenced by the Lunar New Year holiday and Brazilian sales limitations. Meanwhile, pepper prices in Vietnam vary from 84,000 to 87,000 VND/kg, with farmers facing labor shortages and increased costs. Some farmers are using unconventional methods like tarps and nets to harvest due to the lack of labor, and there's concern about the high cost of fertilizers and pesticides. The global market is also experiencing these price increases, with robusta and arabica coffee prices increasing by 0.39% and 0.16% respectively.
