The Ministry of Agriculture in Egypt is awaiting a response from China to allow Egyptian mangoes into their market. The technical data and agricultural transaction details for the crop have been sent to China. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the former Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and the Chinese Deputy Minister of Customs at the end of last year, with the goal of opening the Chinese market to Egyptian mangoes. This is part of a larger initiative to increase the global demand for Egyptian agricultural products, following a boom in the Egyptian agricultural sector over the past nine years.
