Agricultural Research Center tests new wheat and barley varieties in Tete, Mozambique

Ten varieties of wheat and two of barley are being tested in Tete since last May, to assess their adaptability to the agro-ecological conditions of the province. This is the first specific test of these crops, which is being carried out in the district of Tsangano, which, along with Angónia, in addition to having suitable soils for its cultivation, already produces wheat on a small scale. It is expected that by the end of this month of September, after harvesting and processing, another test of yield and fertilization levels will be carried out in order to later produce seeds to be multiplied in the province.
