A team of researchers from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile is conducting two projects to investigate viral diseases that have been affecting the production of bell peppers, tomatoes, and chili peppers in the Arinca and Parinacota region. These diseases have reduced the quality and market value of these vegetables, impacting small and medium-sized farmers. The projects aim to develop adaptation and management strategies, as well as transfer knowledge to agricultural high school students. The research could lead to the implementation of effective prevention and control measures, improving agricultural practices, and contributing to regional economic development.
