The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in Egypt has partnered with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to combat climate change through sustainable livestock management. Funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, the partnership aims to support producers in adapting to climate change, enhance livestock management, and improve animal health. The project will also boost the productivity of Egypt's livestock and agricultural sector with a budget of four million euros. The initiative is part of Egypt's Vision 2030, the climate change adaptation strategy, and the national action plan on antimicrobial resistance, and will be implemented in the governorates of Beheira and Assiut.
