The article provides an overview of the agricultural complex's contribution to Germany's GDP in 2019, revealing that it accounted for about 2.8% of the country's total GDP, with a domestic added value of approximately 33 billion euros. This figure represents a variety of activities, including the processing of imported raw materials and the supply of goods and services related to agriculture and food production, excluding primary agriculture and food industry products for foreign markets. The domestic agricultural sector saw significant contributions from livestock farming and related businesses, with a 26% share of the added value, followed by intensive livestock farming and greenhouse horticulture at 22%, arable farming at 17%, and open-field horticulture at 12%. The agricultural complex also played a crucial role in employment, accounting for over 656,000 employment years, which was about 8.3% of the national employment, with the majority of these jobs being related to domestic agricultural raw materials.
