From January to October of this year, Peruvian exports of aguaymanto saw a 5% increase in volume and a 30% increase in value compared to the same period in 2021, totaling 101 tons worth US$ 842 thousand. The majority of the exports, 93%, were dehydrated, with the rest being fresh. The price per kilogram of dehydrated products increased by 23% compared to the previous year. The main destinations for these exports were Germany, Mexico, and Spain in 2021, but this year Germany, Japan, and the Netherlands have been the main importers. Germany acquired the largest share of these exports, with Japan marking an increase in imports due to more exporters obtaining necessary certifications. The Netherlands saw a significant rise in imports, switching from 5 tons in 2021 to 16.7 tons in 2022, all of which were fresh.
