Iran's exports have seen a significant increase of over 80% compared to the same period last year, despite the ongoing pandemic. In 2020, Iran's trade statistics initially declined due to the pandemic-induced halt in border and customs activities but recovered towards the end of the year. The Trade Development Organization of Iran aims to further boost the country's exports by six billion dollars this year, reaching $ 41 billion by the end of March. The organization also anticipates a growth in the export of Iranian sweets and chocolates, with expectations to earn $ 544 million from these products. The major markets for these products include Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, and some Central Asian countries, as well as the European Union.
