Indonesia's trade balance surplus is being supported by non-oil and gas exports, particularly agricultural commodities, which have seen an 8.59% increase from January to August 2020. The export of processed agricultural products, such as Coconut Flour and Milk, has also shown resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic. Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, has urged the Ministry of Agriculture to encourage business players in the Riau Islands province to increase exports and expand markets abroad to aid national economic recovery. The export of Virgin Coconut Oil, which has health benefits, has also been appreciated for its role in boosting the economy during the pandemic.
