AKORT: vegetables from the "borscht set" have become 4% cheaper over the year

In October, the minimum prices for "borscht set" vegetables—cabbage, potatoes, onions, carrots, and beets—in major retail chains decreased by 4% compared to the same period last year, according to monitoring by the analytical center of the Association of Retail Companies (AKORT). However, compared to September, they increased by 3.5% due to the beginning of the seasonal rise in procurement prices. Year-over-year, the most significant decrease was observed in head cabbage—by 28%, averaging 25 RUB/kg, which, however, is 8.5% higher than in September. The price of potatoes increased by 9% compared to September, and over the year it decreased by 17.2%, to 29 RUB/kg. The price of onions increased by 1.2% over the month, and in October it cost 32 RUB/kg—7% less than a year earlier. Beets increased by 3.5% in price in the last month compared to September, while carrots decreased by 3.1%.
