Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Bafra Vocational School has developed and registered the new alfalfa variety, 'Albatur', which is resistant to cold and can be grown across Turkey. Developed by lecturer Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Albayrak over 13 years, the variety has a higher nutritional value than other clover varieties, with protein values reaching up to 20-25%. The university has distributed 40 kilograms of the seeds to a private company for multiplication and sale, with OMU overseeing the process.
