Andalusia's agri-food exports have reached a new high, adding 4,512 million euros in the first quarter of 2024, with a 9.6% growth rate, primarily driven by a 71% increase in olive oil sales. The region's agriculture sector has made a significant contribution to Spain's trade balance, with a coverage rate of 254%, up from the national average of 142%. The first quarter also saw record performances in various sectors such as fruits, preserves, beverages, fish, and live plants, despite the challenges of drought. There has been notable growth in exports to America, Asia, Africa, and Oceania, with the United States, Mexico, and Asia being the most significant markets. This growth demonstrates the strength and diversity of Andalusia's agribusiness sector, with olive oil being a key contributor.
