Amazonas: 18,000 gamitana fingerlings delivered to fish farmers in Cajaruro, Peru

With the aim of strengthening food security in the Amazonas region, various State entities delivered 18,000 fingerlings of gamitana (Colossoma macropomum) to fish farmers in the towns of Santa Fe, Puerto Nuevo, San Antonio, Nuevo Piura, Llunchicate and El Ron, in the district of Cajaruro. The delivery was promoted by the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute (IIAP), in coordination with the team of the Cordillera de Colán National Sanctuary of the National Service of Natural Protected Areas by the State (Sernanp), and the Municipality of Cajaruro.
