By Maria Regina Silva São Paulo, 11/02/2026 - Brazilian exports to the United States fell by 25.5% in January compared to the same month in 2025, reaching $2.4 billion in January, marking the sixth consecutive decline, according to Amcham Brasil. In parallel, the country's imports from the U.S. registered a 10.9% contraction in the first month of 2026 compared to a year earlier. As the drop in exports was more intense, Brazil's monthly deficit in the bilateral balance deepened to around $0.7 billion, more than triple that observed in January 2025, says a note. "The January data confirm that the beginning of 2026 continues to be marked by significant pressures on bilateral trade," says Amcham Brasil.
