REPUBLICA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman confirmed that the repair of rice fields damaged by floods in Sumatra is the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). The central government is preparing seeds, agricultural machinery (alsintan), and irrigation repairs to ensure the restoration of the land proceeds quickly and thoroughly. He detailed the affected land areas in several provinces. In North Sumatra, 33,000 hectares were affected, while Aceh reached 119,000 hectares.
