An outbreak of African swine fever has been confirmed in Moldova, specifically in the village of Mashcauti, Criuleni region. This is the sixth outbreak the country has seen since the start of the year. The National Food Safety Agency is implementing measures to control the outbreak, including restricting the movement of animals and pork products, and monitoring wildlife reservoirs and the population of pigs and wild boars. African swine fever is a contagious disease that affects pigs and cannot be treated or vaccinated against.
