In Sinop, Turkey, the fishing season has been successful, with fishermen initially catching plenty of bonito before turning their focus to anchovy, a consumer favorite. Enhanced by snow water, the Black Sea anchovy is noted for its superior taste and size. Although not caught in large quantities, the anchovy remains in high demand due to its flavor and affordability, priced between 100 to 125 lira per kilogram. Namık Ünlü, President of the Sinop Central Fisheries Cooperative, highlights the satisfaction of both fishermen and consumers, with the season expected to continue for another month.
