Feijoa will be grown commercially in Russia

Russian feijoa varieties are tasty, healthy and weather resistant. The feijoa crop is harvested at the Subtropical Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. At the Subtropical Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the stage of harvesting on experimental fields begins. After two weeks, some feijoa varieties will already be fully ripened. Thanks to the efforts of many generations of scientists, three domestic feijoa varieties were created at the scientific center - 'Dagomysskaya', 'Sentyabrskaya' and 'Dachnaya'. The 'Septyabrskaya' variety has already been harvested, the rest will be harvested a little later. “Last year the feijoa harvest was very good, this year it was a little less. It's all about the dry weather of summer and early autumn. Feijoa is a very promising crop for production, since it has virtually no pests and diseases in our region,” says Zukhra Omarova, senior researcher at the Subtropical Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. ...
