Andalusia has set a new record for olive oil exports, with sales reaching 2,481 million euros in the first nine months of the year, marking a 24.8% increase from the previous year. The region has emerged as the world leader in olive oil sales, contributing 75% of Spain's total exports. The exports have had a positive impact on Andalusia's trade balance, generating a surplus of 2,068 million euros. In the first nine months of 2022, 62% of these sales were extra virgin olive oil. Seville, Córdoba, and Malaga were the leading provinces in exports. Italy, the United States, and Portugal were the top three international markets for Andalusian olive oil.
