Stefano Vaccari, a prominent figure in Italy's PD group and Secretary of the Presidency of the Chamber, has raised concerns over the cruel methods used in foie gras production, particularly the forced feeding of ducks and geese, which is still legal in some European countries despite being banned in Italy. Together with parliamentarians Antonella Forattini, Stefania Marino, and Andrea Rossi, Vaccari has approached Minister Lollobrigida with a proposal to push for changes in European regulations. They aim to outlaw these inhumane practices and encourage the adoption of more humane methods for producing foie gras.
