Another decline in cattle numbers in Brandenburg, Germany

At the same time, this population represents the lowest value since the reunification of Germany. The number of cattle kept has increased by 50 to 3,840 compared to May (+1.3 percent). The decline in the cattle population affects all age groups and areas of use. The number of dairy cows fell by 3,100 to 123,600 animals (-2.4 percent) and the number of nursing and mother cows decreased by 2,000 to 78,300 animals (-2.5 percent). The number of calves fell by 1,400 to 90,800 animals (-1.5 percent) and the number of young cattle fell by 1,700 to 33,400 animals (-4.9 percent).
