The National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) will publish on its website on the 21st the list of sanctions for liquid fuel distributors within the scope of RenovaBio.
"This initiative aims to reinforce the effectiveness of RenovaBio, promote equality among sector agents, and contribute to meeting greenhouse gas emission reduction targets in Brazil," ANP stated in a note this Friday, the 11th.
The list will include distributors still non-compliant with the individual decarbonization target and who have been sanctioned by ANP as a result. Once published, the list will prohibit, under penalty of a fine of up to R$ 500 million, the supply of fuels to distributors included in it.
"The regulated agent who violates the sales ban with a distributor included in the list will be subject to a fine, which may range from R$ 100,000 to R$ 500 million," the agency explained.
