The Agricultural and Processed Food Exports Development Authority (APEDA), in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Lome, Togo, organized a virtual meeting of non-Basmati rice exporters to explore opportunities in the sector. The meeting was attended by key officials and leading rice exporters from India and Togo. APEDA has been conducting virtual meetings with countries to provide a forum for exporters and importers due to Covid-19 restrictions. Last fiscal year, India exported over 13 million tonnes of non-basmati rice. APEDA is exploring new opportunities for cereal products and has guaranteed market access, product quality, and phytosanitary controls. India exported non-basmati rice to nine countries in the previous fiscal year, with total exports to these countries increasing significantly.
