Apple Season Ends in Ukraine: What Will Happen to Prices

In Ukraine, apple prices have sharply increased — most orchardists have already sold their harvest, and those with remaining stocks are rapidly raising prices. EastFruit reports. The reason is the completion of the fruit sales season from local farms. From the beginning of the current week, wholesale apple prices in the Ukrainian market have increased by an average of 14%. Currently, fruits are being sold at a price of 32–40 UAH/kg. Current wholesale apple prices in Ukraine are already twice as high as the indicators for the same period last year. Market experts predict a further increase in fruit prices, at least until the new harvest appears on the market. According to key market players, the rise in apple prices is primarily related to seasonal factors. Stocks of last year's harvest are rapidly decreasing, while the arrival of new season apples is not expected for several weeks.
