Apple trees of the varieties Idared and Golden Delicious have been removed from the Plant Varieties Register due to non-payment of fees for their maintenance.

Recently at a meeting of the working group on plant nurseries and the protection of plant variety rights, the leadership of the Ukrainian Institute of Plant Variety Examination and Registration informed the participants that over 6,000 plant varieties have been excluded from the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Distribution in Ukraine due to the lack of payment of the maintenance fee.
