The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader) of Mexico is exploring the cultivation of guava in Nayarit as a profitable and sustainable solution to climate change. By introducing advanced technological management and maintenance practices, the first harvest saw a yield of 12.3 tons per hectare, a 63% increase compared to conventional farming, using varieties like Calvillo, S19, and S20. This initiative aims to enhance Mexico's position as a leading global guava producer, with 22 thousand hectares dedicated to the crop and an average yield of 14.7 tons per hectare.
