Korea and the United States have committed to enhancing cooperation and conducting research and development for the sustainable management of fisheries resources. This decision was reached during a marine science and technology cooperation meeting between the National Institute of Fisheries Science and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Jeju. The meeting aimed to share the current status and implementation strategies of both countries' fishery resource research in response to climate change, and to discuss joint tasks such as the application of climate change response techniques, fishery resource management, and strengthening the capabilities of researchers in the fisheries resource panel. The cooperation project will focus on predicting climate adaptation and habitat changes of pollack roe, improving resource assessment methods, and studying the impact of climate factors on fisheries.
